Maybe there is a thorn in it. Check it over well. Wouldn't hurt to soak it in Epsom salt and alternate with ice packs.

Could be a thorn...I'm thinking some sort of bite though with how much it's swelling. Second the epsom salt soak, can't hurt. Do you have any Benadryl?
