I have a couple of hens with spurs. One has them grown out rooster size. They both lay eggs. Spur buds are visible on every hen I have. How old are your chicks and where did you get them? breed? Are their combs red?

I'm not sure how old they was when DW bought them , and since she's hard of hearing she did not hear nuthin the feller said . Hearing aides work great when you wear them. (smh) I'm guessing they was 4 or 5 weeks I've had them about that many more. Combs are yellow they are @AlleysChicks favorite RHODE ISLAND REDS LOL RURAL KING

So if the chicks are 8-10 weeks now and still have yellow combs, chances are good for at least some pullets.

I'm really got my wife going over the spur buds, and I owe her and mom after the green egg fiasco !!! ROFLMBO
