Granny's gone and done it again

I agree about not handling cockerels as chicks. This was the little one I named Friendly because he seemed to be so... friendly. Turns out he is just fearlessly stupid. One pound attack chicken. He CAN'T (edit) really do any damage... unless you pick him up. o_O

why didnt they do that w/ my foot ?
Achilles has a lot more stress on it. You can heal a partial rupture, but if it's too far gone, surgery is a better option. I thought he was trying to anchor it better to your heel bone too. That's why you were supposed to wear the boot. Should have been on for months. I don't think it lasted a week.

picked 4 eggs off the ground and one in a nest today. I sure kept the wrong chickens. Theywere filthy and I fed them to the cats.
I haven't even checked today. Still have the headache, believe it or not. :( I better go check and see if the dang jays left anything for me.

Jays must be distracted by acorns... no broken eggs! 2 Serama, 2 CCL, 1 Wellie Ginger, 1 Spike (biggest). All very small pullet eggs still. NONE from 10 older hens.
