Granny's gone and done it again

The 10 little ones father was a Lavender but he is split chocolate so that is how chocolate ducklings were hatched.

Here are the possible mothers that were kept with him. The first picture is a light chocolate who is split lavender. The total ducklings were 5 Lavender (2 of which you have) 2 black pieds, and 6 being chocolate pieds. The black barred is #2 and chocolate rippled is #3

noticeable size difference even in the same age groups .
How are you going to keep track as they grow? Got some legs bands or does it even matter? Seems to be a lot of genetic diversity, at least for the mother ducks.

or bob the builder or that train one. OR Blues Clues.
You aren't supposed to enjoy them, big boy. They are meant for 3 yr olds. That being said, if you have a little one that enjoys the characters and you see his face light up when he is watching a show, and your heart sort of melts... well, Bob the Builder becomes something of a superhero.

Bad things are happening. I went out at 10pm with my very strong flashlight to shine around the yard to get Scooter to come back inside. It is very windy, and I could see all sorts of dust and big bits of stuff in the flashlight beam. Came in and told hubs it looked like ash. Turns out it probably was. :( 15-16% humidity, and very strong winds means we have been under a red flag warning. Just found out there is a large fire and several smaller fires in Napa county to our east. There is a smaller fire that broke out within the last 2 hours just north of us. Fortunately is is far enough away that I do not expect that we will be in danger. Unfortunately, it is dark and the Cal Fire planes cannot fly and also the winds are blowing toward us. It is getting smoky here and as far down as San Francisco. This is not good. Homes are on fire, people are being evacuated and rescued. All resources are being spent on saving lives... they aren't even fighting the fire at this point. It's going to get worse before it gets better. 24-28 mph winds and gusts to 40 blowing toward us until morning. I hope there are no embers flying our way. I will not be sleeping tonight, but watching the tv reports. It's bad. :hit

I just went outside and I can see pink fire glow above the ridge to our east. That fire is over 5 miles from here and my biggest worry at this point. The tv keeps going out, I think because of the wind or smoke maybe messing up the satellite reception, so I have to rely on computer updates, which are slow. I am not sleeping. If I see flames coming over the ridge, I will wake everyone up and we will get out of here... head up to my dad's in case he needs help. oh boy. The wind is picking up.

Took me an hour to ketch up reading lots of damage east and north east of here . Still raining so flood conditions. Nothing like the hurricane ravaged parts . Some houses are just flat about 5 miles as the crow flies.
