I think it must've been a hawk. The adults were all one eye on the sky. The guineas were at the edge of the treeline hollering. They were under the little stand of trees in the pen. I didn't let them out today.
I had this vision of a hawk picking those poor babes off one at a time. I counted up to 6, so might be 3 missing. Or might be none missing. Won't know til morning.
x2Oh I hope they all show up.
Hi bestie!Body is awfully grumbly, so I guess not.
I think I need to follow Wishing's example and give my back a day a rest. I think I washed, sorted, and folded at least 15 loads of laundry. Bubba puked all night, every time I'd bathe him and get the bed clean he'd puke again. Temp was up to 101.3 today. I need to check it again. We had a board meeting today and our board chairman works in urgent care. He said the flu isn't really going around yet, probably a minor bug. Bubba managed to hold down some supper, so maybe we're in the clear.
I was setting up feeders and waterers and realized the chickens were little statues in the trees. Even walking around them they wouldn't move. I should've done a mannequin challenge!Anyway, I couldn't find the banty cochins. The keet was alone in the coop and crying its little heart out. I searched at least 20 minutes. I finally dumped out food and a couple came from under the coop, but they didn't come out. So I don't know if I lost any or not. :/
