We got the biggest kick out of it in school. I teased at parties that I would bring the kool aid.

It was such a wild and crazy idea when they went over Jonestown in school. We couldn’t believe it was real. I seen a movie a few years later and it was really sad.

That man was from around here. He was evil and murdered those people. They chose to go to Guyana, but not to kill themselves. Those that tried to run were gunned down. They were forced to drink it. They even killed the babies.

They didn’t say that in school. Just that he had followers and they went with him down to South America and people died. They never said how.

I didn’t find out about the actual stuff until years later.
