Granny's gone and done it again

good old BYC now I am getting 525 and 523 errors something about a "cloud" what ever that is.

We are supposed to be in the low 50's the next couple days.
Oooo... balmy!

well brother called and want's to tank.

At least someone will talk to me. BBL
I really do miss the old box off to the side that let us know who is on the thread in real time. :hmm The green corners help, but you'd have to go back pages most days, to see if everyone is here. whine whine whine!!!

I got free chips from the utility's chipper, decided to add a layer to the coop and all 6 hens immediately went on strike and haven't laid an egg in 5 days. is this the sort of thing I can blame on granny?!
:lau I think you can blame it on chickens! I have never seen such suspicious creatures... afraid of anything new, including changes in weather and routine. When I put a layer of fresh soil in my bantam run, it took them a day to come out of the coop (had to because food and water are in the run) and even then were walking on tippy toes and seemed worried the dirt was going to eat them! Took several days, and me feeding them delicious treats (kale and bird seed) to lose their fear. Silly chickens. Now we truly understand why a timid person is called chicken!

Oh, and the decreasing amount of daylight will also slow laying. Even my spring pullets have slowed down significantly. I expect they will pick back up again in Feb. At least I hope so!

What kind of chickens do you have? How old are they?

I went down to clear up the construction area around the hoop coop and loaded all the stuff up on the back of the mule. Turns out i need more bungee cords because it all fell off on the hill. I am already having painful back spasms and really not happy about cleaning it all up again. Ugh. I have husband staining the boards for the stair rails going up to the loft, don't want to fall off there! Trying to clean stuff up before snow falls.

Oh no! Give your back a little rest... I try to stretch or lie flat on the floor or ice until the spasms stop. Otherwise I will end up not being able to do anything for a few days. :hmm

Either that, or ask Santa for a mule trailer!

Capi, here are some good quotes for your signs.

A perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life.

This house was clean yesterday. Sorry you missed it.

Excuse the mess, but we live here

Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop-offs at tedium and counter productivity.
