Ugh. It sounds bad. http://www.thepoultrysite.com/diseaseinfo/82/infectious-coryza/
But it also sounds treatable. They say only 20% mortality or less.
I went up to check on the bantams. The serama cockerel is chasing the cochin around. It's like he doesn't recognize her as a chicken or something. Last night, she was up on the roost early, with an empty crop.I took her down and made sure she got something to eat, but he kept trying to get over to her. He's still at it. I was trying to rig up a pen in the corner for him, but that was freaking them all out, so I let them out to free range a bit, and of course as soon as I did, I heard a hawk.
So I've been hanging out with them, being a GLP (guardian livestock person). Sorry I ditched you, but I have to get back out there for a bit longer. Going to lure them back in with some seed and corn.![]()
I normally understand this but not today for some reason. too many words I dont know the meaning of. I see it is treatable with tylan and I gave the roo 1cc but my meds expired 2 yrs. ago. Then I went to check on the tolbunt hen in the breeder cage. She also acted like she was blind and on futher examination she has all around her face, including eye lids something that looks like pox but is easily removed with a warm rag. It is also in the feathers around the head. Not a clue.
