I'm almost ready to call it quits. It's more work than fun and I hate always fighting about feed costs and expansions. Half of my flock don't have names, which isn't like me at all.

I have never looked at my chickens as pets. I don't name them. I look at them as a way to sustain my family with eggs and meat. I like them and want the best for them. I am fascinated by hatching and breeding.

I think it is important that we can raise the them for food. The eggs are so nutritious.
