Granny's gone and done it again

Pox is a virus and it lasts a long time. Tylan might help lessen any secondary bacterial infections, but even though you caught it very early (before you could even tell it was pox) the Tylan can't do much against pox.

It was pretty gross. the amount of pus was unbelievable. wouldnt it of helped that ? Im glad I put it down but that was the roo that gave me candy corn.

I believe pus can be produced by the body's immune response to viruses. Usually you think of pus as an indication of bacterial or fungi infection, but I think (I think??) it can also come from fighting off virus too. Antibiotics do not target viruses, so it doesn't help at all. You need antibodies to be made by the body's immune system to "hunt down" each specific virus.

So your question about if it helps... I'm not sure. No, if the pus was caused by the pox virus alone. Yes/maybe, if the infection was caused by bacteria taking advantage of a weakened immune system due to the virus. Maybe because not all antibiotics treat all bacteria.

I would of never thought that you would get pus from a virus.

I was looking it up and trying to find out. Pus is what is left over from when the white blood cells destroy foreign germs in the body. It gets concentrated in bacterial infections because of how they grow in colonies in one area. Viruses are usually more widespread (kind of like sepsis) but if the virus is located in one area, the immune response will be concentrated there. More research required.

CB says he isnt on here but a different thread. why would his name show here ?

His name isn't there now. I don't think it's instant update in that currently viewing box. Page might have to be refreshed first or something. When you said goodnight last night, your name stayed in that box for at least 15 minutes after.
