I mucked up today and bought baked and green beans for sides. I have mashed, gravy, rolls and fruit salad.

I think your thinking of when you make a "real" cake and then poke the holes and add jello Which is good also

So I am going to "wing it" on Christmas eve's desert. I don't have a recipe not sure if mom did. involves left over angelfood cake, jello at least partially set, REAL whip cream and fruit. Mixed all together I love the stuff maybe call it a cold/hot mess because if it doesn't set up right you can freeze it.

That's a British thing, isn't it? Treacle or something. I saw it on tv once.
