Granny's gone and done it again

Parvo is a horrible thing camping. He got sick so fast. We are so very lucky he made it . I will never miss puppy shots again.  I dont like them, dont agree with them and it almost cost him his life. If not for his angel he would be dead.  And to catch it just out of the blue like that.   He still is a very sick pup . and I have to be careful of what he eats  But he will make it.  And a $6.00 shot compared to a good sized hospital bill its just not right and to make him suffer like he has.

Aww honey, I'm so glad our baby is home e Hopefully the vet gave you good instructions on his care. Definitely don't be in a hurry to get him eating dog food. His poor stomach & intestines are going to be sore & finicky for a bit. I can't tell you how happy he is well enough to be home. I can't wait until we get to see you guys again. Hubs is thinking early April we will try to sneak away. So wish it could be sooner though

It's ok. It all worked for the best.

When I was a kid we never took pets to the vet ever. They live or didn't. So when I was 15 I had this tortoiseshell cat called PK. She had a litter of 5. Mom said I could take one cat with me (we were moving from LA to KY). I chose PK, but something was wrong with her. As soon as we moved she stopped eating and dropped a ton of weight. She ended up dying in the basement, laying on a piece of cardboard in her own pee.

I was a howling mess. Stayed in my room for weeks. My mom vowed any pet thereafter would be inside and vetted.

We've always vetted everyone. With Jasper we keep waiting for the mobile clinic, but haven't caught it. It's going to be soon, though.

thats 6 weeks away ! No not in a hurry on dog food. He isnt wanting it anyway but boy you should see him go after the broth. LOL

That's wonderful that he is loving the broth, did the vet send him home with a powder medicine that helps get the helpful flora back in his body? For the life of me can't remember what it's called.

No, just 2 pills and I went to 2 stores and cant find plain yogurt . I aslo went to get rice and forgot it. another trip tomorrow but thats ok.

Maybe the butcher in your town has some bones for free that you could roast, then cook down for bone broth
