you would think that since I live in a HUGE city our fairs would have a variety of chicken "shows"...nope just meat birds.
And my little can't join til he is official in the 3rd grade...a few years from now...argh...and then...Im not even sure he will be able to show meat birds at that age...
I have him in Cub Scouts right now...we love it!

Crazy! My brother was in Cub Scouts, he really liked it and I think it s a good program.

8th grade? 8TH GRADE!? That's crazy! I'm upset for him! And to only be able to have meat chickens

Kids here at our fair can show whatever as long as they are 8 or 3rd grade. I seen a little girl in 3rd grade show a market steer. She was so tiny she looked like she should have been in 1st grade!

I think the only time when we didn't have anything other than meat chickens was when the bird flu was around. And once we wasn't even allowed birds on the fair ground.

I've never heard of kids having to be in 8th grade before showing! I started showing animals in 5th grade, and there were still kids a lot younger than me!

does it bother any of you when someone INSISTS that their way of raising chickens is the only way...
when their way is obviously NOT the only way?

I know, people are so set in there ways, they can't see another way. I just let it go though. :/ It's not worth getting so upset over someone or something.

I have always detested cooking. But I sure like to eat ! LOL Just finished cubed steak , mashed potatoes, mustard greens , gravy and biscuits. everything was either frozen or canned. Better then I would have made.

Yes, and the gracious Walmart folks didn't hesitate to replace your exploded can.
