Granny's gone and done it again

Im on day 6&9 . there is such a big difference in them for 3 days.   I dont have problems getting them to day 18 . Its after that when everything goes south.  I made a lot more ventilation holes besides blocking the fan.  The window has never had condensation on it but humidity is supposed to be too high.

Sounds like we have similar issues. I get mine to day 18 and then they go kaput either just before internal pip or a day before.... Never lost one after internals.

I do, before and after. If they external I will assist. I had one last hatch and Im sure it would be a FTT chick. With Chickenladys help it made it. I was kinda shocked because all of mine like that has died. It is a bit smaller then the others but doing great.

they claim thats breeder diet or parents fault bet its the MG. weak chicks . Nothing you are doing wrong.

Good news!

I've lost one after external, that was because it got flipped to the wrong side... Other than that; they've all made that. I won't assist them any further than making sure they can breathe unless they zip partially by themselves. Don't trust my judgement enough.

mine are incubated upright and I am going to try an egg carton this time for hatch. Since I am having sticky chicks I think it will help prevent drowning. I bought some card board flats and wonder about wetting them ?

Thing I don't get is it's from multiple sources.... My eggs, local flocks' eggs, (4 different ones) multiple shipped batches... I'm slowly increasing hatch rates, so I figure if I just keep trying I gotta fix it eventually, eh?

Worth a try. I use either plastic turners or foam cartons if I hatch upright.
