I didn't have any room outside when I brought my first hona pair home, so they stayed in the laundry room for 30 days. It was not ideal.
were you constantly cleaning poop up?

Quote: HI Benny! I've heard of those hybrids. This was definitely a coyote. Their muzzles are much shorter (foxlike) in proportion to the head compared to a wolf's long nose. My husband and I once went walking on a popular path around a reservoir about half an hour south of San Francisco. We had been there before and there were always lots of people walking and jogging and riding bikes. This time we had our baby boy (now surly teenager) in a stroller and noticed some signs posted about a pack of aggressive coyotes along the path. With 2 strong adults and a handy golf club we figured we'd be fine and started our walk. A ranger was along the path and strongly suggested that we not continue. He said the coyotes had lost their fear of humans. The rangers were trying rubber bullets, small noisy explosions, pepper spray and intimidating behaviors to try to respark fear of humans in the coyotes. I figured with all that, a golf club was not going to do the job, so we turned around. Never did hear what happened with that particular pack, but I sure wouldn't want to have been a horrible story on the internet about baby killing coyotes! We don't hike alone or let small children run ahead on a path because of mountain lions, and that was the first time I ever was leery of the thought of coyotes.![]()
The coyote was only about a half mile from home. I didn't see any others, and I'm sure not inviting over to eat my chickens!Wish the car pool spot is real close to your house?
Holy moly...crazy wild animals...maybe he can come eat some rats for you?
Pro..too bad about the truck...I hope you still get the fluffy butts.
Camp...you getting a coop ready?
How is DD's belly?
H2O..I have 2 expensive boats..I would sell/trade them for an RV real quick!
I used to to hear coyotes in the hills nearby, but not for several years. I figured the mountain lion that moved into this territory chased them out. Guess they had to go somewhere!![]()

Quote: Based on my exhaustive studies and huge sample size of two, I'd say your chances are 50/50. Original serama rooster was a sweetheart and the one cockerel of his we kept was also sweet. Next cockerel I kept is not so sweet, he will challenge me. Reasonably smart though, as he has learned pretty quickly that he never wins. Sometimes he starts a charge and stops, like he's trying to think it through... I can see the gears spinning in his little bird brain.![]()
