Granny's gone and done it again

A lady just contacted me asking about EEs. I don't particularly want to get rid of any, but I need to. I think I'll get keep Soot and Cinder and get rid of their daughters. They don't have names and they're not that friendly.

One of Pancake's eggs was dead, never even internally pipped. Yolk was absorbed, though. The fourth one is internally pipped. Not sure why it's so far behind the others. Pancake is itching to get her babies off the nest, but she reluctantly settled back in. Trying to get that baby hatched before I set them up with food and water.

Also the dogs killed a banty rooster. :barnie He's in pieces in the yard. Guess I've got to hang it on Jasper's neck, now.

Morning everyone! Nice day today. Aunt is moving into the farmhouse today, and #1 son's car had to go into the shop yesterday, so lots going on here. My dad needs some help today, so boys and I will be headed up there soon.

Camping, our farm dogs used to be really good with the chickens, never bothered them, except when cockerels were fighting. Then the dogs would intervene and one bird usually lost. Wonder if that's what happened to your little rooster?? Or was he just an innocent bystander?? became a dog toy?

Sorry about that. Even when it's a varmint killed, it always disturbs me when the dogs kill something. It's especially hard when they kill a pet.

Hard to know, exactly. Since the neighbor threatened them we only let them in the backyard, where chickens are not loose. So it had come under the fence into the "dog" yard. I've caught him chasing a couple in the playful, goofy puppy way. So I'm hoping it was an accident.

I set 24 more eggs today, giving me a total of 45. I got a other blue egg from the little brown hen, good news Danna! :yesss:

21 honas (day 8)
12 CL/Isabel from Texas
3 isabel laid here (might not be fertile)
2 from the little brown hen (CL/isa split to lav)
4 from my CL/EE pairing
2 from Mavis (OE cochin)
1 from Mae West (cochin)

Good job granny on getting toms sugar down. We are a hamburger with the bun yesterday for 1st time in more than a month and it only increased to 160. Yeah. Broody has 13 eggs under her. 1 of her green ones. 2 small brown. 10 white top black polish. Hope they hatch. Wish she had laid more green ones. When she comes off the nest everyone else runs for a corner & lets her eat & drink.
