Big wasted day. He didnt take them and I dont blame him. They are coated in mites and lice. Forgot to take the eggs to him. I feel about an inch tall. I didnt know they were like that. He even treated them for me. I stopped at TSC and bought what he used pour on ivermectin for cattle Of course as bad as they were you know the whole coop is infested.

oh bummer. I hate mites.

The ivermectin works great for mites, not so much for worms. I think you need to do a mite/lice prevention program, like I do. Use the ivermectin every spring to prevent the infestations. I have to spray the coop because I get the red roost mites. Would he have taken them if they had been clean?

You went and did it with those extra roosters!

That's a good idea. The darker eggs, like Marans and some of the green ones also put on more of a color coating and the eggs are less porous because of that. Sandpaper should work for that. Bloom comes off easy with water, but you want to keep it as much as you can because it protects the egg from bacteria.
