Last full day of "freedom" - with rain forecast in the north hubs is thinking of leaving Friday after his class is done (so he'll get here later Friday night)

I have missed him, but oh my word it's been nice to just be a recluse and focus on me. And the dog. And the chickens. And I forgot to get a video of the hollering nugget.

Flooding here. River to top of the banks this am. We live on a ridge so no worries. Our schools were cancelled for yesterday. Chicken pens are so wet that I'm afraid to go in for fear of losing my boots in the mud.

All baby chicks have disappeared. Broody is still sitting on eggs. I'm gonna throw them out today. Sunny this am. Tornadoes to the west & south of us but all we had was hail3x.

Sorry about the chicks. Was thinking the same as camping, maybe a sneaky snake. Hope you get a break in the rain soon. I remember rainy winters when the cows would congregate behind the barn and the clay mud was knee deep. Boots constantly got stuck in the adobe.

Good morning guys, I'm home sick with the stomach bug. Had it yesterday and I was miserable at work so today hopefully I can kick it to the curb and recoup.
