the salt blocks yes they seem to prefer the blue one with is salt and copper. Will start the lics tubs again latter in the year. as I use them mainly to get them in top breeding condition and the help the girls when they have calves with them.

the Rhodes white lay brown eggs.
Runnings had a few of the California Grey's yesterday and some black duck and the Rouen type and lots of different sex-linked breeds. They are now getting their chicks from Whelp Hatchery,

I might try a few and then leave them in the brooder room for awhile like I did with the New Hampshire. The Dels are finally out of the medium egg stage and they are friendly to humans the roos are not so nice to each other. BUT they are just not as pretty as the Light Brahma's the black is not as pronounced/defined.
Every one seems to rave about the RIR but I do NOT like red chickens. thought maybe the white would be worth a try![]()
I read the paper yesterday at TSC about the rainbow layers they have. They are just a mix of all their brown layers . They dont even know what they are mixed with. Rainbow as in no 2 chicks will look the same. $1.99
seen a pic today was very nice looking . Looked just like the light brama but the white was yellow. pale yellow .I might try a few and then leave them in the brooder room for awhile like I did with the New Hampshire. that is another part of the issue with the Dels not a bright white like the brahma but more creamish almost the linen white that I paint the walls of the motel rooms.![]()
