and then it gets too tall ?
Nope. They smash it down. I fluff it on the weekend and only add if I take any out or they pull some out.

hmm, I think it would rot the wood after a few yrs. But IDK really.
I would of really liked the concrete floor. The other coop is wood too but it dont have a ton of straw in it. Mostly chicken poop turned powder. Its the one I want to hose out because of the cob webs.

If they have green legs, they are EE. If they lay green eggs, they are EE. If they are not one of the colors accepted into the Ameraucana SOP, they are EE. Hatchery as big as Privet is not breeding carefully enough to keep up standard of perfection, so their birds are a hatchery version of Am's called EE, for some reason, on this site. It's the only place I've ever heard the phrase. I have a feeling "Easter Egger" was a marketing name from a hatchery for non-standard Ameraucanas. It's the Ameraucana breeders that INSIST we recognize the difference (or they get MAD!). Frankly, I have never seen a bird od any breed from a large hatchery that met it's SOP close enough to meet the breed requirements. In the chicken world, if it doesn't meet the breed requirements, it is not considered part of the breed. You might get one once in a while that comes close, but it will be an inferior specimen and never win at a poultry show.![]()
That being said, I love my hatchery birds. They lay lots of lovely eggs and rarely go broody. Good for me!!
I want a concrete floor too. And big enough so I can walk in and not crawl.

You should study up on how to make one. I built my coop . Its in a L shape. LOL I did most of it but the roof was flat because I didnt know how to do rafters and it leaked some so I hired an amish man to put a rubber roof over it. worked great.
Of course I added to it every yr. for 3 yrs.
