Granny's gone and done it again

I was bad today guys. I cut off my hair! Been clean for 3 years and tonight I gave it. It's still past my shoulders but not halfway down my back anymore.

Story time. I had a bad experience at a shop when I was in my teens. I had long hair and went in for a trim. Mom and the lady ganged up on me about my fading color, so I told her to dye it back black. She refused and I told her a dark brown. Then told the lady an inch max for the trim. Spun the chair and started cutting. Then she got the electric clipper out and I freaked. By that time she had already dyed and rinsed my hair and cut It into a short bob. My hair wasn't a dark brown either. It was a medium brown with thick orange bands. I was livid! And scarred for life. Since then I've always cut my hair. But a few years ago I decided I was gonna let it grow out. It's been hard to manage and I was tired of dealing with it so off it went.
What a horrible thing they did.

I gave up going to get my hair cut when I was 13. Mom took me in to see if they could do something with my wild frizzy hair that she called a rat's nest. So I was sitting on the chair with an open mind, and as the person walked up behind me I heard "oh my god!" and then they started pulling bits of my hair up and out (guess they were looking for rats) all the time muttering things like "good god" under their breath. I wiped the frizz back, made eye contact and asked if the person had ever cut curly hair before. "well, not this curly" was the reply. I said, ok then, stood up and marched my 13 yr old self right out the door. Mom followed, laughing softly. To this day, I still don't know exactly what she was laughing at.

OMG I forgot the neatest thing! We're having a petting zoo for the fundraiser this weekend and I'm borrowing a mini donkey and mini cow. They'll be here tomorrow!

Oh man. The curly haired pain is real. This is why I have such a hard time going to a salon.

I trust my sis to do it, but then again she learned on my hair (there were many many horrible haircuts in my youth as she was figuring it out - and now she's an award winning stylist. I am proud of her...). I had one stylist BURN my hair straightening it, I've had others who don't know how to cut curls...I just have given up.

And those of you straight haired people, yes. Curly hair matts and tangles up if you look at it sideways.

Go you! I probably would have laughed at the stylists face.

Wow! That's awesome that she's so good! I'm sure your hair helped her.

My hair used to be straight when I was younger. Wouldn't hold a curl with a can of hairspray. Now a days it's a mop of messy waves that knots up easily.

mine too Ally, straight as a stick . My mom gave me a perm at the tender age of 12. Kids avoided me for a week because of the smell. Never did go straight after that.

Just a trim for now. Might finally get rid of the rest of the highlights from 2 years ago. My hair has gotten thinner and doesn't grow as quickly as it did.

You have such pretty hair, can't imagine you having highlights.
My hair has slowed down as well. Sometimes I wonder if the growth has to do with the season or common weather of the area.

That's so cool! I'm sure it'll be a hit! Minis are adorable!

Mine has about stopped growing and now getting thin.  I have 2 different kinds of hair and its really weird. The top layer is straight and straw like and the whole underside has banana curls and bouncy .

That is weird. Mine is like that with the texture, I think it's because of being in a ponytail everyday and the sun exposure.

What are banana curls?

400

I cut 24 inches and got highlights, because I never had before. I didn't care for them.
