Too many roos. 5 of my 7 isabels are roos. 2/3 Mavis chicks, 2/3 of the EE/CCL. I haven't counted to splits.

Good morning everyone! I spent the morning so far, wrestling the fat off 19lbs of beef. Tri tip was on sale for $2/lb, but comes in these huge bags, so I trim it up, and even though there is a huge amount of fat to dispose of, it's still cheaper than buying trimmed pieces from the butcher. Except for the little bit we ate last night, it's all going in the freezer!
Granny, you asked before what cut it is... called bottom sirloin in places where they don't call it Tri tip.

Looks like this when trimmed, except I cut off ALL the fat!

ouch ! Morning Melon. Its hard to find a teacher you can get along with and some never do but if you run up on the ONE you can learn so much more. Wishing knows how to teach. She reconized how I learn right away and goes with it. If I had a teacher like her when I was a little I know I would of went further then I did.

I'm more in the "teacher is there to teach" camp. I didn't share much of my personal life with students, but I did answer their questions honestly, no matter how much they were designed to discomfort me. For example "How come there are no pictures of people that look like me in this science book?" This was 30 yrs ago, from a black student in a mostly white honors biology class. I examined the book and told him I wasn't exactly sure, but I suspected the book was written by white people who just didn't think about it. He burst out laughing, saying he thought I was going to try to make some lame excuse. We got along very well, that young man and I! I passed his little test, and he passed mine, because he had an open mind.

They are gorgeous camp even if they are Roos. Someone will be lucky to get them!

It is cheaper than hamburger! I need to get a grinder!! The meat is plenty flavorful without all that fat! The fat just tastes like fat, but I like meat... so...
Neither hubs nor I like fatty meat... when I was trimming the fat, he admitted to being a fat-o-phobe. He rarely uses butter either, which make him worse than me!!
