I am surrounded by amish and I was at a friens house who was raising a pig to butcher. I absolutly hated what I seen even though I dont know a thing about them. This thing was humongous ! Its "pen" was not big enough for it to turn around if it was able to walk. They got a truk load of free squash and thats what they fed it. It just layed in a pile of its own poop. My guess would be 800 lbs. Do they get that big ? It was just fat gross.

These guys should top out at about 200 or 300 lbs They can get bigger but usually they don't. They are currently in the dog pen which is 80 ft by 50 ft I believe. More than enough room. The other AGHs are in a pen that is 2 acres for now. That pen will be cut in half to make two one-acre pens. The AGHs will be moving to the end pen with is 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre. The one pen will be for my big pigs and the other will have the rabbits, sheep, and poultry. We also have plans to put in a boar pen for the big boar off the one pen, a pen at the very end for that may end with the sheep in it.
We try to give them more space than the minimum. We do not want to cram it full and get illness coming in. If I can manage it I want to purchase the lot next to the end of our place and make that a nice 2.05 acre pen for my big pigs to live in

I was fine until the gps got us lost. I use to live in Columbus so that was no biggie, that was the halfway point. Cleveland area was stressful.

Im a dork. I was reading, I have no idea what Im doing. He found an egg and went through hell hatching it . I was on the edge of my seat when all I had to do was look at his ava. LOLOL

Dont matter about saturday . I never know what day it is. LOL It might of even been sat. here. hahaa
