Granny's gone and done it again

So it should be ok for just a few months.
It's sitting in my garage..it looks brand new but I will watch it real good and try it out tomorrow.

WASH* I swear I type wash and it auto corrected to watch.

We only signed our own hand written witness statements at the "crime scene" for the investigator...
The police office...the one that was there to do what regular police officers do at a regular accident gave us some papers..
One states that we need to take our vehicle to three places and submit 3 estimates to the police department. Do you think this is something we actually need to do or does our insurance company handle all this?

They (all the officers involved) were so busy talking to each other and since from the get go the driver that caused the wreck was flat out lying I don't know who to believe...
I'm just going to call my insurance company in the am and listens o them..I pay them..they should be honest with me..right?
While we were sitting there for hours waiting Dh signed into out account online on his phone and started uploading pics to them...filing a "report" to let them know what happened...because we thought we had to notify our insurance company since our vehicle was involved even though we were not at fault.

i need to go to bed.
argh

One more question.
Should I take my vehicle to a dealership, which I am sure will charge more than needed to fix it or do I go to a "car place" I know for estimates?

And...when I walk in do I ask for just an estimate?
I'm one that worries they will break something while doing an estimate just to run up the bill.

I forgot to "insert quote" the other day when Sour posted this..
I wanted to tell him that the UNANSWERED Threads was new..it hasn't always been there on this new site.

:thumbsup

I'm going to keep my 4 hours story short.
Short version: Went to go to the feed store this afternoon for hay and feed for horses and chickens.
A SUV police was hauling ask down a two lane road and slammed right into the back of me. DH was actually driving, I was passenger.
We will be ok. Just pretty pissed that this happened...NO telling what he (the driver) was thinking but he did seem pretty sorry.
Had to wait for his Sargent to get to the scene. Then had to wait for the investigation officers to arrive.
Best part..it happened right in front of my feed store...ALL was caught on their surveillance cameras. He was at fault!!
Now...we don't carry the rent a car stuff on our insurance policy so I need to find out if the cop's insurance will cover the cost of me getting a rent a car or not.
I will deal with that tomorrow.
I'm just happy to be home and out of the heat!
(I was able to record the video on my phone when the owner of the feed store was playing it back for the investigators.)

I didn't explain the wreck right.

We were stopped on a two lane road, with turn signal on to turn left. (waiting for the oncoming cars to pass so we could turn)
(and brake lights lit up)

He was hauling butt somewhere from way behind us and slammed into us..
He tried to say we didn't have a signal on...then he tried to say he had his lights and sirens on..like that would have even made a difference.
Video didn't lie, yet he tried his hardest and kept changing his story. It was very sad.
Had there not been so many officers there I would have chewed him out. He needs to loose his job period, as far as Im concerned...he lied way to easily...I don't want him protecting me.

Glad you're ok Kiki! Scary stuff, and another reason I don't trust cops. Hopefully something is don't since it was caught on camera.

Go to three places. They know what to do. It happens all the time.

:hugs It's so frustrating, especially with all the effort you put into it. We have had terrible luck with beans the last few years. From what I read, they are very susceptible to plant viruses in the soil, so use crop rotation... don't plant them in the same spot from year to year, and make sure you get seeds/plants that have been bred for resistance. Same with tomatoes. You need to make sure the soil is good, so lots of good compost will provide nutrients the plants require. If you are planting in the same spot, lasts year's plants already used up most of the nutrients and rain leaches them out too.

Tomatoes might need calcium (or potassium like pertneer said). We crush up dry eggshell and sprinkle it around the tomato plants for calcium, but I forget what problem it solves. They will absorb it slowly when you water... don't want them to OD.

Purple basil might be getting too much sun. I have a purple leafed crepe myrtle that turned green when I moved it to a sunny spot. Tuck them in a bit of shade, maybe behind the tomatoes. Same with the strawberries... plants are always leggier in the full sun. Maybe strips of shade cloth over to protect from the full sun, but still allow some to reach the plants as the sun moves across. If it's not the sun, they might need some more compost. Are the strawberry plants new?

Only thing for squash and zucchini is COMPOST. If you have been having cool weather, that will slow growth too.

Take some pics of the yellow leaves and we might be able to pinpoint the problem. Also, Jane will know!
I think the eggshells help with root rot too.

 sitting here no alerts bored out of my gourd. Kiki, Why the hell couldnt he just say yup, I hit them ? How much does it hurt for people to admit their faults? Cause insurance companys tell them not to thats why. Think they might save a dollar.
I remember years ago when people actually told the truth about stuff like this. I sure miss those days.

You probably posted those pics before the likes/ovations ever came out. I think we are way too hung up on that kind of stuff. I give likes (when I remember) for anything that makes me laugh or think or is helpful. I try not to pay attention to whether I am getting them or not. I am not posting for the purpose of accumulating points. If that was the reason to do it, I wouldn't enjoy it.
me too Wishin it would take all the fun out of it

Goodnight Kiki! Hope you sleep well.

I guess I shouldn't ask/say this cause I'm sure it happens..but how can their insurance dispute something if they were at fault?
You need to call your insurance asap. They should handle the other insurance company.

So it should be ok for just a few months.

My mom had one that lasted for years and years. Maybe they don't make 'em like that anymore! Remember, no vinegar! It reacts with the zinc they use for galvanizing. Not good for chickens.

Absolutely notify your insurance! They will work hard not to have to pay any of your claim since it is not your fault. They can also answer all your questions accurately. I'm only going by my experiences and my insurance.

Yes, take it to the dealer and 2 other places that you think are reputable. Cost of repair is not your worry. They have to pay, completely their fault WITH extenuating circumstances (the lying liar!).
