Borax/boric acid bait works like a charm, and it is not as scary or as environmentally harmful as the "real" stuff." It's also a lot cheaper.

wishing or anyone else, I know that sulfur is supposed to keep snakes away. My question is my chickens free range from sunup to sundown. Will the sulfur hurt them or affect the eggs? I've killed for snakes already this year. All of them black snakes. I don't like killing black snakes because they eat other poisonous snakes but I'm scared to put anything out because of the chickens.
