Granny's gone and done it again

love that fern ! Camping, did parents give you diet for #3 ? Are you mixing his food ? Like, maybe he wont eat the bun with a hot dog or wont eat it unless the catsup is on it. Or Maybe parents are in denial. They should of told you how to get him to eat. It could be the noise where he is eating , could be a lot of things.

We're trying to work through it. Bottom line: if he doesn't eat, he can't stay. We're going to get his fav cereal for breakfast, and put half a pb/j in the canteen for a snack. Pushing/hoping for at least a cup of milk at lunch, and another half pb/j for supper. He takes meds to boost his appetite, to counteract meds that have "appetite suppressant" as a side effect.

I asked what he eats: "nothing."

But you have to eat sometimes... "I eat sometimes."

Awesome, what do you eat sometimes? ...(silence)

His sister said he would eat cut up hot dogs with a scoop of chili, but he certainly did not. I offered him everything I could think of, all colors and textures, and not a spark of agreement. We called the parents for the pb/j tip. I don't care if he wants to eat a spoon of peanut butter dipped in tuna chunks three times a day. I'll feed anyone whatever they need to be comfortable and happy. But they have to eat.

did you mix the hot dog and chili ? Sister is there ? ask her to give him his food. Feed him before he gets his meds and as far apart after that you can. Carnation instant breakfast is a good meal. Robert went 2 weeks solid with nothing at all. sore throat and his teacher brought him some. He still drinks it today. every day.

I feel bad for them kids that are controlled by meds. I have seen a lot of it. the ADD meds take their appetite and it makes them sick to eat. I much rather see them running and going wild.

I just sprinkled Epsom salt in the garden ahead of a good heavy rain! I have Epsom salt lotion at home if I can find it. I already take vitamin d, but I'll look into magnesium too.

I like this product

We'll see how tomorrow goes. The other boy's mom packed extra food just in case, and the girl isn't as picky. I'm hoping as he warms up and gets into a routine he'll do better.

Two years ago the returning boy had a fit at the pool (he didn't want to get out) and two staff had to put him in a restraining hold until he calmed down, because he was going to hurt himself or someone else. So far this year he's doing great and even went back to his seat when I told him there was 5 minutes til supper, and to please sit back down. :yesss:

They say the boy who won't eat is "mildly" autistic. I'm not sure what that means exactly. I do know that he pretty much shut down when he realized the lack of eating might cause him to go home. BUT he had eaten candy at the pool and ruined his appetite. That's why he gets pb/j at the pool now. We won't be charging him for that, either.
