It's a little too warm for me today. It'd be a good pool day.

Eggs are in lockdown! 5 silkies and 9 of mine.

Now let me pray to the hatching gods for a good hatch.

Good luck Alley with your hatch. I have hatched Silkies with LF eggs & sometimes it can be tricky. Sometimes if the Silks don't hatch first the humidity level can get too high & drowned them. I usually waited to bump humidity until I saw a external pip on an egg, but every location is different as well as bators. Just wanted to let you know so you could be on the lookout, not to scare you. Like you, my last hatch I barely had to add water after the first week. In fact the last week I didn't add water & the eggs weren't losing enough weight still. Waited until day 19 to lock down & for an external.pip before I raised humidity.

Papa, it is so nice to see you at grannys house again. So very sorry that you had such a trying year. Prayers for you momma that the doctors get her fixed up. I was so frightened when you disappeared, was worried that Susan health had gotten worse or yours. I'm glad it was neither of those, but still sorry you've had the other chit to deal with.

I have missed so many posts in the past week. DD & SIL party turned out very nice. It was so much work, but everyone had a great time. I am so very thankful that it's over with. I have been sick since last Monday. By Saturday I could barely speak, bet everyone enjoyed that I've been thru the ringer. Bad sore throat, sinus garbage, bronchitis kind of cough, then by the end of last week a very croupy cough with voice loss & major sore throat. Today has been the best so far for some voice. Past couple of days I have went back to the wet chest coughing. I have a doctor's apt. late this afternoon. Hoping doc can get me fixed up. Ttyl

The silkie eggs were losing a lot and I added some water the first 2 weeks. My eggs had tiny ACs. Usually I run dry and add water at the end. The bad part is I won't be home tomorrow or Thursday like I want. Maybe I can just cancel my dentist appointment for tomorrow lol but I have to take Mom Thursday...

I'll just have to check em before I leave and once I get home.

Hoping

1. Alley has a good hatch
2. Camp is not seriously injured
3. It cools down a bit for those overheating
4. Warms up for those that are cold
5. Everybody gets over the sicknesses
6. That chickens stop wandering

Now I am off to "assist in fixing the tractor". AKA I get to sit and be bored and praise the almighty man for putting a new water pump on the tractor. Male egos are so fragile..... lol

Oh no Camping, are you hurt?

No worse than the rest of us. In the moment I was afraid that I chipped a bone, but it's only a little sore and barely swollen. It was a good reminder to not leave them that way, because that would've killed a chicken for sure.
