Granny's gone and done it again

Fun thing about the Seramas, they don't know they're small. The eggs are good too... big yolks for the size.

No micro. Some day get a pic of yours next to a regular sized one so I can see the size.
Not one of my best days. This is about the 8th day in a row of high heat. We are not used to this and it's taking a toll on me.

That would be 2 colors down, 7 to go? 9? You could create your own colors... black with a white crest, like a Polish. Or columbian! Do silkies come in columbian?

He's about 13 weeks and looking leggy. Hopefully it's just a stage. No saddles in sight, comb is still not red. I hope he's a she because she will end up being friendly. I haven't had a lap chicken since my first group.

This sounds easier than hatching! Not having any heatwaves out your way, I hope. Hope you get your rainbow!

:barnie My nerves won't take it! Some one else will have to eat Spike. I'm a big wuss about that.
Aww Wishing, you have got to get yourself at least a window shaker for the bedroom. I can't handle really hot weather or high humidity. I become the biggest bee-otch. I am constantly having hot flashes so high temps send me over the edge. Hope you & H2o get some relief soon :hugs

It's a hovabator 1602N I had a good hatch last time but I couldn't keep humidity up.

This time humidity was good until lockdown and I just couldn't get it high enough. All 4 troughs are filled up and it only got to 55% I had to add a wad of paper towels to get it to 70%. No condensation on the windows.

I might steal the sponge idea for lockdown next time.
It helps big time, my hovabator doesn't like getting up higher than 55% either. That's why I add the sponge below the vent hole & one at the corner where the turner cord exits. This allows me to stick a piece of air tubing through the hole & to add warm water as needed.

your saying it skipped places where it was zipping ? Thats why they go around the shell a few times before they can get out.
I think once you go into lockdown you should do everything you can to Not open the bator. I know you have to sometimes but its like a cold slap in the face to them and they dry a little each time.
Could you heat a wet sock in the microwave and toss it in? enough room?

Lost power so we went out to eat after the storm passed. DD GS GD & me. Power was back on when we got home.
Has the storm passed? Glad everything is okay... I was worried... tornadoes
I'll stick with earthquakes.
