Granny's gone and done it again

Even for just outside time? And he might climb the chain link if you had it. Mine did. He sounds determined.
Taking him out on leash every time he wants out would take half my day. Tom usually is the one to deal with them. Pup would pull him over. I dont know what else I have except let him get it out of his system. Its them kittens he is after.

I cant find his collar. Funny how things keep disappearing around here. So he has no ID on him.
whipping his butt yesterday did no good. He is just going to keep chewing new holes. I dont have money for chain link. Not sure where that leaves me. I wont keep a dog on a chain. Rather see them dead first.
You have to reprimand a dog WHILE they are doing the unwanted behavior. Doing it after only reinforces fear of coming to the person. They do not associate looking or being at the scene of the crime with them actually doing the crime, so in effect, they are being punished for no reason. More than ineffective, a seemingly random punishment (to them) actually causes trust issues with the owner.

As for solutions, if that was my dog, he would only leave the house on a leash with a martingale type collar that he could not back out of. The real problem is boredom, and you don't have enough strength or energy to solve that. Maybe rehoming would be best. I think he could make someone who has an active lifestyle a very nice pet.

Sarah's plants are much much younger than mine, so I fully believe it's the soil in the squash bed. I'll be fixing it next year I guess, unless I try to have a fall garde

Wishing, I have been thinking on this since you mentioned it last time. Its so hard to imagine. He has been through a lot. Money spent on him has been a lot. I would miss him and I know a little boy that not forgive me. He is the only life in this old house. I fear I would do it again. Do I know better ? absolutely, but that wont stop me.

martingale ?
Yeah, it pulls tight if they pull on it. Scooter has to have one on a walk, or he will constantly run off, the dummy. I even got a prong one, because he does not respect the leash, barks like a fool at other dogs, and his windpipe had been damaged before he came here, so the prongs actually protect him because he will not pull.
