Robert would keep his hands to himself. I dont think he did anything except brush his backend as pup was walking away with the toy.

yes, I have smacked his butt a couple times but I am like an annoying bug . Robert put him on his back and held him there for not listening .

Granny our son Cody has ADD. Somehow I think that the dogs scence that and stay away from him. One of our outside dogs won't let him pick him up . He growls at him. We've told him not to pick him up. Other then that he plays ball with him, pets him and everything is fine. No aggression whatsoever.

well, I was always taught to get a dog to listen you should show it who is boss by hovering over it or holding it down . Pup wasnt listening to me at all so I asked Robert. Pup does listen to him so thought we were on the right track. Now I am more confused then ever and this is my fault. Way to go Granny.

No it's not your fault. You did your best of what you knew.
Pup needs a strong pack leader. Someone he can trust but also respect as the boss. By training the pup as it grows up he learns to respect you and sees you as the leader. I think he was just too much dog for you. You didn't know how big and strong he would be. It really is like raising children. You get their respect by enforcing the rules. First teaching them and then enforcing them. You can't take a strong willed stubborn dog like that and bully him into submission.
