not sure but I have read where it is likened to cashmere. And cleaned and roved it goes for 7 to 10 bucks an ounce.

You think you can sell that? What is roved? like carding? Tall order to clean that I think. Some Woolite in warm water.

this year they talked some company in NY to do it for 25. per pound cleaned, carded and roved. Let me see if I can fin a pic

You know cashmere is goat hair, right? I sure would not want to clip a yak! I was a professional dog groomer, that was bad enough. Cats are worse. Had to quit grooming after I got cat scratch fever. Ate a hole in my hand. Just a tiny scratch from a kitten!

I guess they have machines to do all that now. I've only seen the pioneer way.

that came off the side we couldn't get to with a brush.

They start shedding at the centerline down their back and gradually it works its way to the belly or lower sides.
