Granny's gone and done it again

You have the right to refuse any medical treatment, tests, procedures. Tell your doctors and nurses you don't want them waking you.
That would have been nice, but in my case, being woken was necessary or there was a much larger possibility than there already was of me dying. Plus, they needed to keep turning me over or I'd get bedsores. Just like an egg, eh.

By the way, did you know holding your breath for a bit makes the heart monitor go funny and nurses nervous?

I'm a retired nurse. Yes, holding your breath while on telemetry is an excellent way to get a nurse rushing to your bedside. So is having sex. :lau Yup, more than once. When I was the nurse, not the monitored copulator.

I'm glad you know that they weren't bothering you just for fun. Some folks seem to think nurses and lab techs do that.

I kept sweating the electro pads off lol I told them gorilla tape works best in extreme conditions like uncontrollable sweat

I've been going to bed early too, more nights than not. So hot lately it just saps my energy. Naps too, during the heat of the day. At least I get laundry and such done without folks getting in my way, being up so early. And just straightened my spice cabinet!

I have zero intact discs in my lumbar spine, so I sure can sympathize about the pinched nerve. I think mine got pinched into submission. Got a numb place or two around my knees, doctor said nerve damage. And then said I have degenerative disc and joint disease. Oh well, I got most of my mileage in during my younger years. Don't need that many more now.
Sorry about your suffering, both of you. Poor husband has metal in his neck. Lost 2 inches in height, and lives with constant pain. But he just keeps going.

I can assure you I didn't try the 2nd trick. :lau

Naw, I have a friend that's a retired nurse, and I have respect for those of you that deal with us. Still, I get a bit ticked when I'm woken every hour and have light beamed into my eyes. The constant asking me who I was and what year it is was pesky too. I just wanted to sleep....
