wc black to laced or white birds produces mostly black birds with a little color to them.

buff lace x gold lace = buff lace colors that are impure for dom. white
buff lace x silver lace = depeends cause its a sexlink cross. depending on which way you go you'll get light buff lace or white hens and roosters being most likely white with red or buff shoulders.

gold lace x silver lace = again sexlink cross, either pure gold hens or pure silver hens. roos will be buttery silver lace with red shoulders.

throwing blue into the mix will cause blue lacing in birds with black lacing.

Wishing, Found this for the polish. I have hatched a couple black polish but I got a tolbunt. I wonder from what hen ? Roo is silver laced split to tolbunt.

The down side of living in a free country is that horrible people are free to be horrible...

... until they break the law. They will be punished severely. There is very little support for these type of people.

Also, Benny, the sad truth is that the public schools, at least in California, don't even teach much about WWII or the Vietnam War.
I am sad to hear that.

Just some pics. I haven't posted any since thread changed
so lovely! And tidy! Love!!!
Danna, beautiful set up you have, but where's all the poop? I got poop everywhere here. Maybe your rain melts it all away. Oh, lovely rain. Wish we had some.

I have never heard cuy before. Had to look it up. Do you do the dispatching yourself? I am too wimpy. There are giant g.pigs you can get now, but have read they do not make good pets. They'd make bigger sausages, though.

I went to TSC last week and they had chicks as well... black and gold laced Polish, Asian blues, Isa browns, and Cornish cross. I was happy to see the chicks were in stock tanks with a fence around it and the chicks looked in good shape. Went in there a couple years ago and people (and kids!) could just walk up and grab the chicks, about half of them had pasty butt too. I talked to a manager and gently complained, but they must have had a lot more complaints, because it's much better now.

Thank you h2o. Did you notice those were PWDs in the birthday pic?

Indeed I have eaten many cuy/guinea pigs. I used to live and travel in Mexico, Chile, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, all around and down in there. I haven't got my hands on any good stock yet, but it's part of my plans for the next year or two. I truly like them better than rabbit both for eating and raising. Rabbits are a right royal PITA for me. Cuy pretty much take care of themselves, only need forage, and tolerate extremes in temps far better than rabbits. Tame, quiet, clean, thrifty, hardy, easy to butcher, easy to house, easy to manage, few health issues, productive, prolific but not too prolific. One animal is one ample serving. And you can cook them any way you'd cook rabbit, chicken, or any poultry. Cuy could feed a lot of hungry populations if folks could get over that cute and cuddly pet thing. You can even utilize the hides if you want, though then you'd miss out on that delicious crispy skin!
