Granny's gone and done it again

Just a preview of what is to come. Telling everyone to get out the winter gear. I bought a light jacket yesterday.
Two neighbors lost trees this year, and we got the benefit of all the wood, and one was a huge oak. The firewood shed will be stuffed full before winter. We don't usually get freezing temps, but a fire in the wood stove sure takes off the chill.

49* this am. News last night predicted 20-40 mph winds here on Monday. I bought water, bread,& canned meat in case the power goes off. Don't usually need to prepare but better safe than sorry. We were without power for 6 days after hurricane opal.
Still hoping Irma takes that really hard right. CA is sending out 100 linemen from PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric), so if you see them in their light blue trucks, say hi!

Mornings all, Phone woke me and found a kid here. Said his throat is "on fire" . He is warm.
Noooooo! :barnie You can add over the counter medicines to the list of items that your limited funds go to instead of food. Grrrr. Keep at them, and find that supervisor. o_O

I need an engineer this am. How can I get the top bunk put on the bottom easily ? Besides hiring someone to come. LOL
Lay the beds on their sides and attach the top laying flat out. Will be easier to tip it up into place than lift and hold the top bunk while attaching. Robert and the older boys should be able to tip it up. You will have to check for ceiling clearance though. Side rails for the upper part might have to be removed so it doesn't hit the ceiling. Attach them after it's up and replace the mattresses.

mystery meat for lunch.
Didn't make you sick yesterday, so sounds like good stuff to me!

Wishing, I hate this stuff.
Yeah. Cooking. whoopie

You did what I would have done. Boys can pic the bone out of the thighs and the bone will give better flavor. Are you adding veggies in with the soup? Little extra water in case it cooks off. What are you serving it with? Camp's idea of biscuits sounds good, or egg noodles are yummy and kid friendly.

Which kid is sick?

Oui oui, madame!

I thought last time you added frozen veggies in with the canned soup that you poured over the chicken and cooked together in the oven. I was trying to say if you keep it a little soupy, then that will be like gravy to go with biscuits or noodles or mashed taters or whatever.

$50 from Salvation Army is way better than trying to figure out what to do with food they give you. Good deal!
