Well I agree about the spanking, but we all have learn to do things we don't like. I agree that Robert was more sensitive than most. You are doing a great job, I give you a lot of credit for everything. I know it is hard work raising kids. We are not there and we don't know what these kids have all ready had to endure. Bless you for giving them a safe place to live. We haven't walked your shoes. But if they live with you they need to know the rules and you need to make them. You are making the best you can with what money you have. We love you and just want the best for all. When Robert was born I didnt notice anything different about him. My mom said she did . As he start talking, walking , the temper tantrums came too. He would throw a fit if I made him put socks on. I was just as determined he was wearing them as he was not. I would cook something and he would throw it. He would get spanked for his wicked ways. The most defiant child I had ever seen. Yrs pass and I find out its not his fault.. The socks literally hurt his feet, the texture of the food like sandpaper across his tongue. The tantrums screaming because the bird outside singing was driving him crazy it was so loud along with the water dripping and me walking across the floor and any simple sound being made he heard them all at once. He was unable to block it out. He was spanked, put in time out, things taken from him for something he had no control over. I didnt know, never suspected a thing . Peeps, we just dont know how someone else feels or why they act the way they do Take CB. He had cancer, kidney removed, Chemo, radiation. Did it damage his taste buds ? WE DONT KNOW. Kids arent born defiant . They are honest, loving innocent creatures and we as parents turn them into something else. I will never spank another child as long as I live. It hurts me to hear of others that would.
Told you I was different.
That's that tricky difference between "he can't" vs "he won't." Hard to tell sometimes. When Robert was born I didnt notice anything different about him. My mom said she did . Twist is pretty close to your age.
Another thing I make is alot of frittata with my eggs. Or maybe a quiche. Do they eat eggs well?
there was a time Robert would only eat by color. white. If it was white he would eat it. including ice cream. Then he went on a only eat one thing kick. Dietitian said that was ok if he only ate peas for a week as long as he ate the veggies fruits the next week, ect.. to go by what he ate in the month and not the day. I started him on instant breakfast drinks many yrs ago and he still drinks one a day. That's that tricky difference between "he can't" vs "he won't." Hard to tell sometimes. You know my first had similar issues, but fortunately, I was aware of the differences and made allowances. Other family members said I spoiled him him, but I can't imagine how hard things would have been for him if I treated him like other babies. Still, my goal has always been to have him live in the world, so I have pushed him to try things, even if it made him uncomfortable. Still doing it. At 2 yrs he would scarf anything I put in front of him, but by 4 he was very resistant to many foods. He wouldn't even try ice cream! Got to the point where I would bribe him to taste new things, but mostly I didn't want family dinner to be a negative thing, so I always made sure there was at least one thing on his plate that he would eat.
