Granny's gone and done it again

well it's almost 10:30 am here and NO call from the PO. they are NOT open on sundays. SO I am assuming that my MIA lings will also be DOA

Now I need to go start Vickie's birthday meal. Get my pie crust mixed and then chilling before starting to par-boil the ribs.

GOOD NEWS as of 2 pm yesterday we had gotten 1 1/4 inches of rain. AND it rained/drizzeled the rest of the day and I think most of the night. :ya:wee

:hitPoor quackers!

What kind of pie are you making her? And ribs for bday? Fancy twist!

Wish you could of had half the dang rain I had this summer! Or this week! The ground is muddy out by the coops. I slid while walking several times.

And we would gladly take it still over 5 inches short for the year.

Sour Cream Raisin with Mer-rangue complete with home made crust using leaf lard. :drool
I got the ribs (country style) a couple weeks ago when they were on sale. And considering everything she does here and the farm for FREE it is the VERY least I can do for her.

How nice of your mother to GIVE away your eggs. :duc
She was mad because we cleaned out about 12 dozen from the 2 refrigerators  I've been busy and not been home to cook them (Work, grocery shopping, running other errands for other people). Aidens been getting 7-8 bantam and large eggs a day since he sits by the nest boxes and gives me sad puppy eyes.
So mom called the neighbor with 10 kids and gave them 2 dozen eggs. Which left me with 1 white, 2 brown and 2 green eggs in the fridge. :duc

Jasper hurt his paw. I looked him over and it looks just a little irritated between his pawpad and ..ankle? Right behind the big pad. It doesn't look split or even that inflamed, so maybe he bruised it? He's hobbling around on three paws, poor thing. Can I use the neosporin with lidocaine on him or are they intolerant like chickens? I figure a wrap will help it feel better.

So I have a question. I scrambled a bunch of fresh eggs the other day and they reeked of sulfur. The eggs were from the day before and that day. And had been in the fridge. They are on the same food and the only change has been the flooded runs from the rain. So are eggs just really strong sometimes? I've never noticed it before.
Never encountered that one. Only thing I can think of is the possibility that something else in the fridge is responsible for the smell, but you'd have noticed that when you opened the door.
Hope you tossed them.
