Granny's gone and done it again

pup was laying on the couch . Robert in a chair next to him. He just slide his hand under him on his side.
I believe he was telling Robert , you aren't the boss of me. Dogs being up on the bed or couch feel like they are on equal playing field. The dominant dog gets the prime sleeping area. He must feel like Robert is threatening his status. I wouldn't allow him on any couches, beds or chairs. He needs to learn the kids and robert are below him in the pecking order.

But the little one should have a set bed time every night. The others too, but maybe a bit later than school nights. Then you can have alone time.
I still send them to bed. I guess I dont have a set time for them yet but I dont let them stay up too late. I was kinda hoping they will sleep in with me.

The people should be above him in the pecking order, right?

Kids rarely sleep in. But a regular bed time is important along with getting on pjs, brushing teeth etc. Helps them establish good habits.
