86° in the house. No wonder I feel so blah!! Sigh. I could relent and turn on the ac but by the time it cooled the house down it'd be cooler outside anyway.

SometImes if you turn your ac on when its cooler outside it pulls in the air from outside and cools it down fast inside.

went thru my pepper plants and pulled 3 of them (had already used most from them) and then sorted thru the rest of all the small and deformed ones. Cleaned them up and into the pot with the maters. I need to grab some more onions from the farm. Only thing I am going to have to buy (not homegrown) will be the celery.

That's what I've got on the agenda for tomorrow.

also took a peek at the beets some are bigger then softballs.

Haha, had the same thing with mine this year. I mainly plant them for the chickens so they loved them.

Went to check Fluttershy's eggs. One dead, one not, so I started peeling the not dead one and got a drop of blood. I put a little antibiotic ointment on the membrane to keep it soft and put it back.

I opened the other, looks like it had an infection? Membrane was brown, but still soft; fluid inside was brown, the color of dried blood. Yolk was absorbed but belly was extremely distended. Had wild type markings in brown, that was probably the chocolate hen I've been dreaming of.

Why is it always the ones we really want to hatch?

I know its not easy but the mama crushed it and probably in more then one spot. Have you culled babies ?

DD is obsessed. She hasn't read them because they are "above her level" and they're expensive. But now we're going to the library in the morning!
