Unfortunately our home was added onto on both sides when the previous owner was injured in an auto accident & paralyzed. We have so many valleys due to the add on. In fact the front middle section used to be a flat roof. When we shingled the house about 10 years ago we put a pitched roof on it, but with all the roof lines coming in its not a steep pitch.

OH not good flatish roof and lots of valleys can cause serious leakage problems.

Besides it is a huge bee-otch to push all that snow off of it. In the center it just swirls & settles in around the chimney. It can get over waist high in that area easily.

well 2 plus a little gallon buckets of apples about a pint and 1/2 apple juice and 3/4 pint of honey yielded 20 pints and 6 half pints of sauce

I do realize it's more work to can pints and smaller. BUT much less waste around here and easy enough to then open to jars if needed.
