I do realize it's more work to can pints and smaller. BUT much less waste around here and easy enough to then open to jars if needed.

I can a lot of things in pints. We use more qrts of canned tomatoes, but I still do some pints & some 3/4 jars just for adding to a soup when tomatoes aren't the base.
