Well I guess everyone is out, and you will be soon.. hope wishing will come on and tell us how she is doing.

Hi everybody! Finally back in my own unburned home. The evacuation was lifted on Monday afternoon and we have been super busy trying to get reorganized and settled in. The hills all around us are black. It's very unnerving to see how close the fire came, and how close we were to losing the house. Mon and Tues I ended up having to help my brother, who had a minor accident and needed rides from the ER and to the drs office, and grocery shopping and prescriptions, etc. (he's going to be fine, by the way), but it took me until Wed to get myself moved back home. I am exhausted, but so glad I have my home to be exhausted in. We were extremely fortunate. So many others lost houses and pets and lives. This fire was one for the history books. The best news is that Thursday it was actually RAINING!! The ash got washed from the sky and the trees and the air smells fresh for the first time in over a week. Of course, it's also helped the firefighters get closer to containing the fires. The other thing that happened Thursday night was we lost power. I was on BYC when it went out and never had a chance to post here. It just came back on tonight, so almost 20 hrs with no electricity. What a pain. I had to throw out a ton of food from when the power was off during the evacuation. I only went shopping once, so not too much in the freezer/fridge, but I took it all over to my sister's. Now I will have to go get it tomorrow, but it's a small price compared to what others have paid in this fire. Life will return to normal in time, but for now we are grateful to be whole and back home.

Phew Wishing! Now here’s hoping they get them fully under control and weather doesn’t go completely sideways. All love and respect for the calfire crews.

How’s the weather supposed to be for you going forward? I know down here they’re calling for hot and windy...today was nice and cool and there was some rain but it was only a brief respite. Sigh.
