Granny's gone and done it again

I guess the Serama's have made up my mind for me today. Have been struggling with keeping them because they are a pain in my ask, and granddaughter likes them. I've made some poor choices with breeds of birds I've kept over the years. What I keep coming back too is I only need production birds. We sell the eggs on our veggie stand in the spring, summer & fall months. I try to throw in a few different breeds just for some color in my easter basket lol. But each time I've tried keeping little fancy birds it always bites me in the butt. I now have 2 smaller birds that came from grannys stock, but are a mixed breed so they will be fine with our winter weather. I think it's time I bite the bullet & try to get rid of all my Seramas. I was going to keep 3, I have 10 advertised, but after tonight's troubles Im over it.

I was over it with my guineas the other night. I swore to myself that if guinea #14 caused all the other guineas to escape from the run since i had to go catch it, i was going to make soup out of it. I have since heard that guineas are not good eating. Anyway, the guineas did not escape the run . And they are getting better at going in their run but tonight for some reason went in an open coop door where no birds live currently. Weird.

Guinea gumbo is a bit of a delicacy around here.

Camping, can I just second that doc being a bit of an idiot along with everyone else?

Your weight loss is inspiring. If I could drop like that I’d be a happy monkey. (Course that pesky eat well and hustle your bustle...ain’t nobody got time for that!)

Anyway. Youre awesome and don’t let idiot docs make you feel less.

As far as fires go, luckily winds haven’t been too insane (yet) though it has been hotter than the dickens. Triple digits! Ugh!

Scary thing is, I’m going to share a photo that Facebook reminded me I posted on this day five years ago...my place in Alberta...as much as driving in that wears on you, I do miss sweater/soup weather.

Hubs should be back in a bit, he did a massive trek to look at a cheap cab over camper. As I suspected it was cheap for a reason so he’s coming home empty handed.

So his shopping ADD will continue...I’d pray to the gods of vehicular goodness that he finds something reasonable soon so then he’s good for a while but...then he’ll be on to something else.
