Depends on what is available in your area. I had a doe come in to be bred before but would hesitate to let my buck go out. You never know what might happen.I'm trying to get a buck for Roxie. Any insight Cap? Original plan was to pick up something at the sale barn, keep him a month, then sell him again. No DH wants to just borrow a buck. But our goats haven't had any testing, so I'm not sure how that's going to work.
I would not recommend a sale barn for anything. Those places are hotbeds of disease. I have seen some very nasty boils and such there, animals near death etc. You might be able to find someone with a buck to lease out. Or if you buy one, you can always resell. You know the buck is the most important goat in the herd, so you might as well find a good one. What breed?
