Granny's gone and done it again

Nope, when i go out to close the guinea run i put the light on in the coop. Then they usually go in. There is food and water in there. If it is cold, i shut the pop door.
I thought they may need light in the coop. they go to bed very early because it gets so dark in there. The other coop has a light and the chickens turn it on when they want to.

I have a timer on my lights, they either get their butt in before dark or they are chit out of luck. That's only with the LF breeds though. The Serama coop is the only one that the pop door is closed. I have wind breaks made around the LF pop doors. Their heated water bowls are outside under a roof, so I don't close up the coop anymore

How do they turn it on?
its a florescent with the pull chain and its close to that shelf where the nesting boxs are and they jump up there and pull it. I think it started out because it was something shiny dangling but now they know full well what that no longer shiny thing does. LOL
