Granny's gone and done it again

guineas are wild birds and no matter how much you hold them , tame them they will go back wild one day. I knew one woman that could tame hers and I was amazed at just how tame they were but I havent talked to her in a very long time so dont know if they went wild on her or not. They will pretend to be tame and maybe even take food from your hand but make no mistakes, they are like a feral cat.

I went out and checked the chickens. One of my roosters was still out in the run. Maybe protective of the hens? Any way, i put him in and shut the pop door. Stained 2 signs, cut a support for the cat tower and painted it. Poked the fire. It was spitting when i first went out, turned into rain by the time i got in.

Hubs has a friend at work who is having a baby and we were looking for a gift for her. I started thinking back on what was the most useful thing when I had babies. My girlfriend had given me a set of 3 flannel squares, each almost 3ft square. I used those things all the time, completely multi-use, can't do without it kind of thing. Washed them threadbare too. They were perfect for swaddling, emergency diaper change station, blanket, sun/wind/germ blocker, peek-a-boo game, spitup wiper, privacy cover when nursing... and they were still useful as the boys got older... snot rag, picnic blanket, bib, sling, chair seat belt, bundle-of-toys carrier, rope, cleanup cloth, and superhero cape! I'm sure there are more, but it was a long time ago.
Anyway, it was a good excuse to go digging around at the fabric store today. :wee I found 4 cute little patterns, and the flannel was on sale too... 40% off. It's been awhile since I've bought fabric. Couldn't believe that 4 yrds of flannel (on sale!) would come out to $20. But, for as much as I used mine, they are worth 10 times that. Now all I have to do is drag out the sewing machine, wash, cut, and hem the flannel. She's due in a couple of weeks. Think I'll finish??
