Granny's gone and done it again

Hi wishing, how goes it? I have to see the Grinch steal xmas every year or Christmas is not complete!
Oh, for sure! I have it on dvd too and used to read the book to the kids. Think I have it memorized. I love Christmas. It's the only time I decorate the house. Love having a tree... that is my present every year. What do you want?? ... A TREE!! :ya

Hubs has a friend at work who is having a baby and we were looking for a gift for her. I started thinking back on what was the most useful thing when I had babies. My girlfriend had given me a set of 3 flannel squares, each almost 3ft square. I used those things all the time, completely multi-use, can't do without it kind of thing. Washed them threadbare too. They were perfect for swaddling, emergency diaper change station, blanket, sun/wind/germ blocker, peek-a-boo game, spitup wiper, privacy cover when nursing... and they were still useful as the boys got older... snot rag, picnic blanket, bib, sling, chair seat belt, bundle-of-toys carrier, rope, cleanup cloth, and superhero cape! I'm sure there are more, but it was a long time ago.
Anyway, it was a good excuse to go digging around at the fabric store today. :wee I found 4 cute little patterns, and the flannel was on sale too... 40% off. It's been awhile since I've bought fabric. Couldn't believe that 4 yrds of flannel (on sale!) would come out to $20. But, for as much as I used mine, they are worth 10 times that. Now all I have to do is drag out the sewing machine, wash, cut, and hem the flannel. She's due in a couple of weeks. Think I'll finish??
I always give baby quilts. They are fun to make and quicker than a regular quilt. I make them and give them to my MIL to give at baby showers because they have limited income and everyone loves a baby quilt!

I have made quilts before too. They are more fun, but take a bit longer AND I would not have got to go to the fabric store, because I have mountains of calico out in the storage shed that I would have used instead.

Oh yes, i love fabric stores! Had to sell half of my fabric when i moved. Very sad. I have not been to a real fabric store in a while but i did get a xmas panel at Hobby Lobby!:wee

Fighting a headache. This weekend has me whipped! Couldn’t drag myself to the coop before dark. Just finished locking up. Two of the six ducklings made it in the coop! Three of the four littles are missing. :hit
Oh no! Do you think something got them, like feathers around... or are they hiding in bushes?
