No idea. Maybe it was too big for the egg? I think that’s what causes that injury sometimes. It can bear weight on the good leg. I can’t remember if I’ve had any get over this or not. I think they usually die.

walking on hocks probably breeders diet. Not sure. the others is from mucked up humidity. I dont see any craws poking out. I would get them all on some vitamins and scrambled eggs before I even got started.

I can’t find the sav-a-chick anywhere right now. :barnie that gray silkie is lighter than air. I’ll be surprised if it’s still alive in the morning.

The breeder said she gets them like that now and then, but never so many from one hatch. She thought maybe it was from hatching pullet eggs.
