This is the egg collector in the closed position.

This is it in the open position.
You can see the open space here where the eggs roll in because the back will be higher than the front. This will be lined with styrofoam to prevent egg breakage.
When it is closed, birds can't poop on or peck at eggs. They are also not sitting there for coons or possums to eat. When time to collect eggs, open it up and they are ready.

say cap is there a latch on the egg cover so the coon can NOT just lift it up ??

You can see here how it is slanted slightly for the eggs to roll. You can also see the ramp up to their loft dust bath.

ok, so I thought they laid their eggs up there, they rolled down that ramp then on to the front collector .

I have seen nest boxes for chickens like that. The quail lay all over the place, so i figured just slant the whole floor. If they lay in the sand i will have to open the door to get those.
