Granny's gone and done it again

So, my sis wants a pet for companionship and is thinking about getting a cat. The last 3 cats she's had have been semi-feral, so not the best company. This time she is looking for a friendly laid back cat that will hang out with her and not hide. She likes our Henry's attitude so started looking for a Maine Coon cat.
Found an ad advertising 4 MC kittens that a man took in when a friend of his suddenly passed away. He is selling the kittens and 2 other mostly grown MCs, and even the mama that had the kittens. The money will go toward the friend's funeral. Sis was interested in the mama because she's the only one that is socialized. Sounds like the woman breeding them kept them outside in a cattery and didn't handle them much.
We went to see the mama, and found a sad sad scene. Tiny house was filthy, 2 dogs out front were flea bitten, and the mama, oh my, her fur looks moth eaten, all broken off and thin. She has little bumps from bites all along her back and was grooming almost non stop the entire time we were there. He did have a flea collar on her and the dogs, but obviously that wasn't working. We think he was just overwhelmed since he breeds savannah cats, and his huge female just had a litter, then he gets these 7 Maine Coon cats to squeeze in... but still not a good situation, especially for mama, so we want her out of there as soon as possible to get to the vet and get deflea-ed and spayed and whatever else they think she needs. Mama cat is cool with all other cats except his big savannah female, so that's another reason to rescue her. All this and he's still charging for the cat.
(2 kittens had already been sold, and a couple showed up while we were there to buy one.)

Sis doesn't want any bad karma attached to mama, so I am to be on my best behavior when I go to pick her up tomorrow. I cannot make snide comments about her condition. I cannot say he is a turd for charging for her and making sis pay for the spay (which he insists on). I cannot, under my breath, mumble that I wonder what animal control would make of the condition of these animals. :hmm I am to get the cat, hand over the money, say thank you, and leave. I will do my best, but made no promises.

your much closer to Saint-hood then I would be if you can manage that.

No way, I would call animal control.

May I ask how much he is charging for her. ? I would buy her and then turn him in. He shouldn’t be breeding in those conditions.

good thing it didnt happen while he was working .
He would have been sent straight off to the hospital then, soon as he barfed once.

So I guess I’ll also post pics in groups?
If you have other good pictures. The one with the tail down is the only one with her head down as well... that's why the tail is in a different posture. Very hard to tell from pics unless you can get them all from the same angle all standing the same way.

$35. Hens are $70. She got three hens and a roo for $175. Guess I’m real bad at math.
Then she got what she paid for and can eat the extra roo. And be very careful not to choke on the band!:rant

I think I would and also post your question about the leg bands.
Yup, and she didn't have any answer because there is NO EXCUSE. Especially if her husband thought the chicken looked like a roo two weeks ago as soon as he got it home??? Shady shady shady

If you do post on a group, be sure to include a hatch date and how many times you got 3 eggs from that pen.
Can you stalk Hona groups and see if she has bought others before?
Or like granny says, block her and forget her.:smack
