they are easy to cook and no bone to mess with. Nice for presentation and serving and flavor is not to bad. IMHO you can not beat a picnic or shank ham with the bone in for flavor and useful leftovers .

that we like out meat and have larger family's up here. Remember cold and long winters with frequent power outages so no tv either ;) and about 9 months latter BOOM babies everywhere
